Hi There to ALL. my name is Darryl..I have just joined after not using a cb for 25+ years
I've got the bug again.
I live in Tasmania a small Island off the south east tip of mainland Australia.
We farm apples and have a large orchard in the south, not much to tell really
I used to work for Ansett airlines many moons ago, my dad got me into radios
When very young he was one of the first on ch24 it was called the Wafflers ch
Back then in oz that is there club was called the phantom wafflers, dad was number 3
The rig im using right now is a custom uniden grant not xl or 244 has no numbers just a grant very old rig moded
By " pk" in west australia over 20 years ago.
I am waiting for my bearcat 980 to get hear from usa ( due today! ).... still waiting.. It
will take another two weeks or so for all the new bits to arrive and set up.. Cheers

Good morning tassie devil. I was also introduced into the world of CB's at an early age too, thanks to my dad, who is also a HAM operator btw.

You'll enjoy this site, it's laid back and family oriented for the most part... lost of good people on here.

Howdy there Tassie devil! Welcome to the forum! You should like the bearcat I've heard good things about them.

I had a buddy who lived down the street from me "Farmer Gregg" who is also a member on here has the 980. I think its of the best 11 meter SSB radios on the market for under $200.
