I have been working with electronics for over 50 years and have been very successful. I just installed the ERF-2030 modification in a Galaxy DX-949 and I am disappointed with the results. what was promised and the results are far apart.

Here is the chart from cbtricks under the MOSFET experimenter section.

2SC1969:
25.615 - deadkey = 8.5 watts - 28 watts peak
26.965 - deadkey = 9.0 watts - 31 watts peak
27.865 - deadkey = 9.0 watts - 30 watts peak
ERF2030:
25.615 - deadkey = 8.3 watts - 38 watts peak
26.965 - deadkey = 9.5 watts - 43 watts peak
27.865 - deadkey = 9.4 watts - 40 watts peak

The highest peak I have seen is about 14 watts with a dead maximum of 6 watts.

Has anybody else had similar results?

Nothing to worry about. It could just be a bad 2030, Tallman hasn't had a chance to go back thru the radio yet.. Paying customers come before my radio. This is a popular modification, but it is a shame nobody is posting helpful info. This is just one off multiple mods Tallman is doing. There's always a back up plan... A secret back up plan :) lol!
