Hey guys

I am curious as to what wattage a person would use in an amp if they wanted to seem to be barefoot but actually wearing flipflops.

something like this ?

If you want to seem barefoot the KL-60 would do that for you. Not a large unit but it is FET and they are sensitive to being over driven. I have one that I used as a driver for a high drive amp.

Good little amp for your purposes would be a 2 pill...something like a DaveMade M80.
Gives all the punch you need, easy to install, doesn't need a whole shit ton of amperage, you can run it easily off your stock charging system, and its not too expensive.

to paraphrase GG don't underestimate the humble 2 pill . although i'll recommend something with a AB or B biasing if you talk SSB .

I had a 2 pill driving an 8 pill for a while. 90% of the time I just ran the driver box. Nothing more was necessary.
Good point about the bias with regards to ssb.

My first amp was a MIDNIGHT SPECIAL 250 still have it and love it to death. When I got my new one [1x2] I put the special in an icecooler with a cobra 19 ultra3 and 2' ant. for fishing and camping. Great little amp. I got it second hand for $100. Don't know if that was too much but I'm well satisfied with it.
