So I think im going to start playin around with some old boat anchors. A friend of mine just "aquired" 4 FT101's, and 1 of em is mine. I also have my eye on a big ol' johnson viking ranger. So i guess im gonna keep the Fl2100B if im getting a 101. Anyone have any good documentation on either radio?

The Ranger has small mod iron and no room to upgrade i have one it just collects dust they are good if you want to just
throw a d104 on and do some basic mods but i wouldnt invest to much time in it for hifi also ft101b it can do pretty well with a few cap resistor changes on one board then some filter mods but it is screen modulated it wont sound like an old plate mod rig

Hey noise worst case scenario if you dont find one you can temp a resistor across it but it will be wide as a barn door
Also dont forget to do the bandswitch changes some people put the filters and never bother with that part and sorta half works

Yeah - i know about the switch mod.. I have it on home puter. Drop the AM in the cw pos and do i small mod behind the mode selector.
