Hi I am new to this site and I am very new to CB s I have not bought one as of yet I hope to get a set up by the end of the month. i am a retired mover, did it for 33 years. I spent 4 years in the USMC married with 3 children and 4 grand kids:offended:

Get a radio with AM/SSB. The quality of the radio is important. Some SSB radios will drift unless you overhaul the PLL circuits. But I would suggest going with Uniden 980 or one of the Ranger DX models.

The Uniden is a good solid performer.
The Ranger radios cost more but you are getting a lot more radio.
