In the need of a good 200 amp power supply

Check out megawatt power supplies. They have 50amp ones for $111. They can be paralleled out of the box with the voltages set accordingly. 4 of these will get 200amps, and they are clean supplies. Google megawatt power supply. But direct from the megawatt site!! JMHO. Good day. There are other ways, like computer server supplies. But they need work done to get them to work right. With the megawatt supplies, at least it's a simple voltage adjust and have 4 supplies in parallel. Not cheap, but they do a good job. Again JMO.

I got around the problem with higher voltage finals, 48 volts and then used a Sorenson 60 volt, 60 amps unit. I could control either limit so it did a great job at 12 volts, 100 watts, almost an idle for the finals but driven to the 48 volt limit topped out at 500 watts. The finals are from army surplus mobile command transceiver. Just a pair but you need over one hundred square inches of heat sink or forced cooling.

How much was the cost of the 48vdc finals and such to build the amp as to what the cost of 4 supplies would be, I guess that would be the next question. The megawatt S700 50amp supply can be out of the box ran paralleled as many as you want. For $111 each that is not that bad considering what others charge for a supply that size that is basically the same shit inside.

What I will say is this, I have learned that with 100 watts and a good antenna, and the right conditions I can talk where I want to. It doesn't take a kw to do it either. But then again I do have a TNT 600hd sitting in the closet just in case someone starts acting up LOL!!

The finals were from a pre-stage to a single tube final on a small shipboard backup radio. Mounted one each on two CMI units mounted fin to fin and force cooled with a fan at one end. !00 watts of CLEAN signal will go a long ways with just a long wire dipole. QRP is easy when signal is sharp.

Yes sir. I've been using 50 watts and a home made 1/2 wave horz. Dipole and talk to DC, VA, WV, basically the whole east coast and eastern Canada. Antenna is at 25ft. heading N/S. Works well. Good for local chatter to about 4-5 miles.

If you have an 8 pill look into the megawatt supplies. The only other way would be to build yourself one out of computer server supplies. I think 4-6 of the megawatts would be cheaper for you and they are clean little supplies that can be used on 120 or 240 VAC.
