I had my Base in the shop about 2 months ago and never checked anything on it when I got it back. I just started using it. This morning I happened to be listening to a couple of Guys arguing on channel 28 when I changed channels I got the same on 32. I got to checking and every 4th channel is the same. Anyone have any ideas to what this could be.

What is the radio? Make, model and what mods were done to it? Also are you are saying that every 4 channels is the same frequency or you heard the guys every four channels up/down? Are you using some type of frequency counter? Or just going by what you heard of them talking on channel 28? The more details we have the better we can help you out.

Thanks 222
As I said my radio is a Texas Ranger 696SSB that's the base. But pretty much the same as the mobile. No mods just as I bought it. These radios come with a built in frequency counter. This is what I have. Its a list but here goes.

Channels 1,5,6,7,12,13,14,18,19,20,26,27,28,33,34,35,36 are all normal.
Channel 2 reads 26.93
Channel 3 reads 26.94
Channel 4 reads 26.96

Channel 8 reads 27.05
Channel 9 reads 27.02
Channel 10 reads 27.03
Channel 11 reads 27.04

Channel 15 27.09
Channel 16 27.11
Channel 17 27.12

Channel 21 27.17
Channel 22 27.18
Channel 23 27.25
Channel 24 27.19
Channel 25 27.20

Channel 29 27.25
Channel 30 27.26
Channel 31 27.27
Channel 32 27.28

Channel 37 27.33
Channel 38 27.34
Channel 39 27.35
Channel 40 27.36

Any ideas ?

Thanks again
Have a blessed day

No sir. That one is a bit above my skills with radios. I am no tech in any way, shape, or form!! But it might be best to have a qualified tech look at it. If you don't have one I can recommend a couple to you. You would have to ship the radio off. That is a weird issue though and is not something I would mess with if you aren't really knowledgeable about radios and how they function. JMHO.
