I have researched and researched and researched on this and can't find anything.

I use a Kenwood R-1000 as my receiver. My Cobra just acts as a simple transmitter, not even for modulation. It's direct injected with a modulator I made.

My problem is that I need to be able to receive off the antenna a transmit from. Right now, all I have for a receive antenna is the home made quarterwave ground plane I made some time ago. It's 8 feet off the ground and does not receive very well. Most of the semi local guys I talk to are running hifi set ups and it just sounds so much better coming out of that receiver. Is there anything I can make or buy if I have to, to be able to run the receiver on the same antenna as the transmitter?
