Gentlemen and ladies I'm in the process of purchasing a radio along with an XForce 2X12. I was told 2 watts deadly and swinging 40 watts maximum. I wanted a RCI 2995 DX CF however it have been told the 2995 isn't capable of 2 to 40. If that's the case any suggestions on a Base model radio? Thank you.

I would say you don't need something swinging so much. If you get 12 to 15 swing with 1 or 2 dead key, you'll be fine.

The RCI 2995DXCF is a 150w radio...That would be too much radio for a 2x anything...Would work OK with a straight 12 pill tho...

A RCI 2980WX would work with a 2x12.

Just drive it with any single final radio. Uniden 880, 980, Cobra 29, uniden pc68, and so on. If you want to do both AM and SSB, the 980 would make a good driver radio that wouldn't overdrive that amp at all and it would sound good with a good mic like an RF Limited 2018 extreme mic. You don't need 40 watts of pep to drive 2 transistors to full output. Max maybe 15-20. But I would say anywhere from 8-12 watts pep should do fine. 2 watt dead key swinging to 8-10 watts PEP. That should work just dandy. You don't need to over drive that amp as all you are doing is giving an early life. The extra watts you see with more power in than needed aren't going to help get your signal out any better, and you'll probably sound bad as well. Keep it clean and mean!!

Any suggestions for Base Radios to drive a straight 12 XFORCE enough to reach PEP out? Looking at HF Transceiver also. Thank you

I really want to achieve maximum PEP on the 2X12 or Straight 12 amp which is stated at 3.2 KW. Suggestions for a Base Radio with AM/FM/SSB and CW to drive either? Thank you...T-Bone

RCI 2980WX? OKAY, next to a All band all mode Yeasu Radio the 2980 is my favorite. Will it drive the 2X12 to maximum PEP out from the 2X12? It's rated at 3.2 KW PeP
