hey guys im new to the thread life but i was wondering what the differnce is between a 2pill variable and a 2 pill hd i have biult a two pill by the schematics on the page and i love it but what do i need to do to take the varible out so i can drive a 60-80 watt radio into it fo i just take the variable out and double the keying transitors to handle the diffence in input power

No. You need to pad the input. Or attenuate the input power to a level the 2 transistors will handle. Waste of time IMO. Just use the proper radio for the job. Not one that is made for a 4 transistor amp. Again, JMHO.

Can 2 more transistors be added

Probably not if the case is made for 2 transistors. Takes a bit of space to add transistors and the other parts needed. Most amps just don’t have the room.
