You'll be good to go with a whip...The kind of power your talking about won't even tickle a whip...

I have ran 9KW through a steel whip with no issues but it was on a hard wired hard mounted puck don't try it with your typical ball or 90 degree mount those mounts are only good to 1000 maybe 1500

Thx for the info I made a home made ground plane and am using whip as a base antenna and wanted to know what it could handle before I pushed my power thru it
