hi folks,i'm fairly new to the site and don't know any of you yet unless you also belong to anothe CB radio forum site.
anyways,i got back into this hobby last year after a hiatus that began in 1993.so i began with a Wilson1000 hooked up to a 148GTL and a factory made Power Plus 250 pushing 70avg and 260peakwatts.eventually because i love them so much i bought another Philly made 148GTL and also another factory made amp,a Magnum2000 pushing 80Avg and 240Peak watts and also at a local pawn like store(they only BUY your stuff,no pawning)i bought an almost brand new Wilson5000 for $25.00 YES I SAID TWENTYFIVE BUCKS!!! HA HA that is because CB's aren't too popular up here.

anyways,so now i run with the 5000 on the roof of my Jeep G. Cherokee.i was wondering, truthfully,is there a better antenna made, out there for the mobile?any and all info would be greatly appreciated.i have only heard that the Wilson line of antenns is the best you can get but i don't believe that 100% whole heartedly.Thanj you,Gravy626

depends on where you wanna go , where the antenna is mounted and if the other half cares about the appearance . wilsons have done the job for many folks and made them happy . i like a big open coil like a predator 10k , the sirio 5000 is getting a lot of good comments , and there's always the 108 .

someone on another site has a really nice antenna.i think it's a sirio mobile you can lie it down so when you go places like a parking garage, you won't ruin it.wicked nice looking antenna as well as function.don't know much about them but would definitely like to look into them.

I wouldnt waste my time or money on it. Fold overs are nice but never last long
