Little help please. I'm wanting recommendations for Cross Needle SWR/PWR Meter.
Have Dosy PM 1000 retired; Upgraded to Dosy TR 2000; but, I just not happy with it. I've a UHF/VHF Cross Needle Meter and I very much like this operation.

Wanting a Cross Needle SWR/PWR Meter with 1000W max. Suggestions please.
I'm not impressed with Mighty Fine Junk (MfJ) but if you can recommend with confidence I'm listening.
I like the extra large meter on the Daiwa CN 901HP, 801 and MFJ 894. The Daiwa looks to be of higher quality meters for not a whole lot more? I need the size while looking from my Lazy Boy lounger.

No feedback in meter inquiry. Went out on limb and chose CN 901HP. Turned out to be a dud. No PEP measurement.

Speaking of PEP: Your usual SWR-PWR meter such as DOSY PM 1000 or TR 2000 shows which, PEP or RMS wattage?
I might presume PEP on these two as evidenced by the needle fluctuation rate?
The Daiwa CN-901 is suppose to be switchable.

Not a cross needle that you're after...but, I've got one of these and another in route because I like it so much...

Thanks for your feedback Gobbler.
Confidence in a tool accuracy enough to warrant a second is high recommendation. Absence of adjustment pots, aside from contrast, lends itself to accuracy as well. Then backed up by Seller provided, and independent utoob vids Sure appears substantially built. Lifetime warranty, don't recall last I saw that; otherthan my Henry Rifles. Pride in a product should warrant a name or brand wouldn't you think.

Im not hard fast on cross needle so much as visibility from recliner a cross needle presents; this'll do quite well.
What is purpose of Protection On LED?

Again thanks for the directions.

If SWR goes over 1.2 then red light comes on as warning...

Also has RCA jacks on back that if your radio has capability you can run jumpers for PTT that will block transfer to amp.

I was charged $186.86 USD total...and for the meter to work how it does, I'm happy...

Got one, same $$, and like it a lot! I've found the red LED comes on at 2:1. Perhaps you meant same? Must turn unit OFF/ON to reset.
Brilliant from Lazy Boy 4' away. Like PEP readout which begins showing briefly carrier* input power then switches to carrier output.

*Which is not carrier in strictest sense. Radio is dead keyed to 3W and PEP is 33-35W, just what the manual for 3-pill specifies. So, the SWR/SR meter is reading the 33W briefly; then output of either amp(s) on at the time.

Don't understand purpose of PTT IN/OUT?

Yeah that's what I meant...2:1...oops

The PTT jacks on back are for connecting an amp that has RCA jacks...

Yeah I love these meters...

Thinking bout trying this one for my ICOM 756 Pro...

Yep it was a good buy! I see 2.+:1 SWR and tweak 3-Piil RMS output up or down to get 1.65:1. It actually does better with higher carrier output. Can do the same with radio dead key to get the most favored input to 3-pill. I should add, 2-pill best with 1.5W DK and 3-pill best with 3W DK. With this meter it is almost magical if not immediate.
Barefoot radio is 1.0:1 regardless of dead key. Two pill RMS can be tweaked to get 1.2:1. And it's not a chore at all.

Have 8x 2879 FatBoy at end of chain, prior to SWR/SR meter. Have not measured SWR with FB out of the loop. Very well could be both 3 and 2 Pill driver SWR are better alone.

FatBoy prefers 2-pill and the combined current doesn't dim the lights:300 (122):
