Best overall base antennas

Getting back in the game, Its been years. I still have my old big stick.. I will use my 30 yr old HR2510
as my base station for now and was wondering what the best antenna choices are these days for DX ect. I want to do it once and correct the first time. Cost is not a big concern, But what is a concern is the eye sore that would potentially be on my house. Less visible choices would be great. I heard of a type that just lays flat on the roof and just uses long lenghs of coax ? is this true and are those any good ? I would also like to be able to run unlimited power thru the antenna if I chose to, Not something limited to a few watts etc

I just bought the Sirio sy27-3 aluminum 3-element Yagi. It’s going to be mounted near my house using a 14’ treated 4x6 post sunk 4-5’ into the ground with steel push-up pole bracketed to the 4x6. This is a directional antenna that will be mounted horizontally on a rotor for DX, $165 plus tax from Walmart to my door free shipping.

I really like the omni antennas for DX. The Antenna Specialists M-400 Starduster was great for DX with a high take off angle. Another great skip shooter was the original 5/8 wave Penetrator.

I built a simple two-wire dipole for less than $5, furthest contact was 900 miles although I didn’t run it for long.

I've camped in the wilderness where there's no power lines or anything. String up a mile of wire in whatever direction witha bow and arrow pulling light wire connected to a balun. DX over thousands of miles. Compass directions can be used to create a beam of sorts.
