holy shit that was completely awesome!! i had been wondering if that could happen from running too much wattage.
i have to say something-i've now watched three or four keydown clips and have noticed that a good amount of black guys are there.i never knew that there were a good amount of black guys into CB radio.i always thought it was an old white man's game, good to see that it isn't.
what ticks me off if to see CB radio seem so popular like in this video, and yet you'd be lucky to get ten people to turn out to a keydown if it were held in NH(i mean ten from NH).i bet if one were held and advertised in Mass it would be a decent turn out though.

If you could get enough watts outta pills, you could do the same thing with dc watts, provided the humidity was right...

I'm goin to be orderin another one, and another predator bad to the bone on a 22 so I can have a bounce back setup on the yukon when she comes home. Just a few more weeks. Ordered lmr400 ultraflex this week also. Real times microwave not the knock off stuff. I said this build was going to take a long time but dammit I am doing it right. I want my infrastructure to be right, then ill worry about dropping boxes in. :) now, just a few more weeks and ill actually be drilling. I'm not going to make the egg harbor break which kinda sucks but oh we'll

Heh, me either man! I'm excited just to be driving again. I had lost y license for a year because I missed an insurance payment and was driving with no insurance. That's mandatory minimum one year loss in NJ. So I've been out of the radio as long as I have t had a car. Got my license back a while ago, just didn't have the money for a vehicle come together for me. But now things are starting to fall in to place. So I figure I gotta do this right if I really want to enjoy it :)

I hear ya, at least it sounds like your on the right track on a personal level and with the CB stuff. I was into CB's back in high school in the 90's. My dad got me back into it a little over a year ago. I had no idea about the other side of CB... Amp's and what not. I'm planning on having my dad peak & tune a DX 949 for me when I get one. It's crazy, the things that can be done to radio to make them hot and blow smoke. Geez...just look at the antenna market these days compared to the 90's, it's mind blowing.

I hear ya man! I'm almost 32 and I've been in and out of radio since I was 8 years old. I never knew about the "dark side" until about 5 years ago myself. The whole lack of Internet and anyone around me who was knowledgeable about these things. But I picked up a lot in a short time, and I do enjoy the shit outta this hobby. I used to have a 1990 Cadillac that I pucked the roof of, with a cavalcade of different antennas, amps and radios. That install worked very well for me. The car talked all over the place, but the install wasn't the cleanest and I kept changing shit around all the time. Now I know what I like, I know the right way to build the vehicle, or at least the right direction to head in, and most importantly I have the patience to do it correctly. And on a personal note, find yourself a factory refurb 959, spend the money, the freq counter is worth it, and send it to Nickybots. I can get you in touch with him. His rates are great and his work is awesome. What he did to my 919 is nothing compared to what he can do with a 959.
