The RF Limited Xtreme 2018 digital echo microphone is a popular one for sure. It has a micro echo board powered by a 9 volt battery. Many features and when adjusted right they sound great. With or without echo they produce a well rounded vocal tone. The coiled cord is flexable even in the winter months but the body of the mic is square & may feel uncomfortable to some. The battery cover is not spelled correctly...battrey! They realized it but never made the correction, lol. The knobs may bump out of adjustment when handling. Booty Monster's mod consists of removing the adjustment knobs, position an O-ring and install the knob. This adds a little stiffness so the knobs can't turn too freely. Here are some good close ups of this neat microphone. Can be purchased at your favorite shop, Bulldog.

Here are more views of the Xtreme 2018. Notice the spelling on the battery cover, lol! When adjusting the VR2 & VR3 pods make sure you use a small screwdriver and do not force the adjustment beyond their limits. VR2 is microphone gain and VR3 is the talkback volume, Bulldog.

thanks for posting your review BD . i love mine . i use a 4 to 5 pin mic adapter with it and on the washington and grant the adjustable talk back feature works great . on AM i run it NB on in DT mode with the dials a hair under 2 each . the mic element sounds smooth and clean with no effects too . heres another review of it with waves of the effects .

You will notice near the adjustment knobs & numbers the white reference dimple. Ordinary there is just an impression in the plastic. I used an automotive paint pen for touching up scratches and added the white color.

i like the look of that mic definitely.i bet though, the company that made and stamped the battrey cover, was from down south.....since they do pronounce it-bat-trey.lol

thanks for all these posts BD.i personally appreciate all of them as some are helping me make decisions in potential future purchases that i have been contemplating.

They have fixed the "Battrey" problem....I have two of these Mic's...One with a "Battrey Cover" and the other has a "Battery Cover"...

Really Bulldog...as picky as you are with perfection from vendors, I'm surprised you haven't contacted RF Limited to get a replacement cover with the right spelling!

I heard the new 2018's are made in China now as before in Japan. Is this true? Thanks for the info on the new battery cover, Bulldog.

I have no idea...It doesn't say anywhere on the outside of the Mic, or inside the battery compartment where it's made...But if that's true, I guess the Kids in China know the English language better than their counter parts in Japan!:D

How did you adjust VR2? Or did you leave it stock? I have never touched mine as I didn't want to mess it up!
Thanks in advance.

get a set of these ........

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ultra-Steel-Precision-Screwdriver-Set-6pc/17163840

or something similar , they are literally a few bucks . they will be fine for these pots . but if youre gonna be tweaking cans and such in electronics get the non-conductive type made of plastic/nylon etc. .

if you find you need to open the mic be sure to open it like a clam shell .

Also. I have tried many, many Mics but I always get the most compliments with the 2018. Hands down. No matter what
Radio I'm using.
