Logging in Maine is active. This wood lot is located about 1.25 miles from my house. These logs are either send out whole or as wood chips from our large local trucking company. In Maine we make many wood products, Bulldog.

Yeah keep cutting those tree's, and before you know it, Maine will look like West Texas where the tallest thing sticking up is the ears on a Jack Rabbit...

Maine has trees to spare, logging is a highly regulated industry. A lot of the trees that are harvested is spruce a highly fast growing species. The land is replanted after the cutting, I'm not sure of to many other states that do the same. In Maine it doesn't take long for an area that was cut to grow back thick, maybe two years. A lot of stump growth, 5yrs and there are some decent trees growing birch, maple, oak. 10-15 yrs and the spruce is taking over, 25-30 yrs and the spruce is starting to get selective cut.
