Hello All

Anyone useing short protection for hi amp dc setups? I tried DC 300 and 400 amp ANL fuses. NO GOOD.they choked off the amperage and the alternators seemed to work hard with them. Took them out and no issue.
I need something 350 amp or higher.. any thoughts?

Thanks

the biggest breaker ive seen is a 200, might be bigger now though. the problem with a breaker is you can only run 80% of the rated amperage or you may get trips for no reason.
Honestly I no longer run fuses on the high amp stuff. i make sure its insulated well. the truck system has fuses.

Yeah no way i can run 200... Im going to ditch the breaker idea. Maybe put some big master cutoff they use on electric fork lifts. My dc setup is completely seperate from the truck. I will have an fire extingisher .. hey ya never know!
