My black diamond plated covers came in and right angle 4 pin microphone plug. Thanks Tom for the quality products and very quick service. As usual everything arrived in a well packed box. Previously had the chrome diamond plated covers and love them too. I got one of the very first Galaxy DX 959HP-2290 Edition CB Radio customized mainly focusing on the RF section. The black diamond plated covers really sets this radio off! Very sharp looking! Since this covers can fit many radios sometimes you may need to add some spacers. Besides that it is an easy install. The covers are thicker than the thinner OEM! Here is my mobile station, Bulldog 777 in central Maine.

Motorola Roadster 2 is a Bluetooth device so I can talk on the phone, listen to my music and it can broadcast my music to the radio in the truck.

How much does on of those cost? That sounds like something I'll look into getting sometime down the road.

A long time ago I bought a universal mounting kit from Radio Shack. Boy that package had all sorts of different L brackets. Picked the brackets that would work, bent them so when the radio was in this position it would be level. I time I customized an insert that would slide over the brackets which out finish it out give it a good look. I made that out of cardboard, tape, hot melt glue and gray towel. Got the stars in the sewing section. The brackets are the main support for the radio. Below are some older pictures. This radio is going on three years old.

I like that. If I was going to do a top dash install that's the way I would do it. Nice and clean

So how does it get it's power? AA or AAA batterys? How long does a set of batterys last?

What you did with your radio set up is an example of someone who knows what they are doing. Nice work bulldog!

Charges like a cellphone and charger included. All voice commands. The voice will let you know from the start the battery level. Last over a week for me before charging is needed.

gotcha....was looking at them on eBay...There's one that works with the Galaxy S3 phones New for $46 w/free shipping...may have to check into one.

Just wondering on your cover's why you just didn't spray-paint your chrome ones with satin black paint instead of buying new ones?

All you need to do is take some sand paper to the chrome, then spray some self-etching primer on it like I did my D 104's, then spray the black on....

They also make a spray on rubber coating in flat black. I believe the company is called plasti-dip. It comes out very even with no runs. Also if the effect is not desired it peels off very very easily leaving no residue. Also has the nice texture like a cellphone. I have used it many times to re finish cobra 29 cases and also painted my trailer with it. Very durable with 2 coats.

I've seen that stuff at Home Depot...never thought of using it on covers tho...may have to check it out, some of my covers need repainting anyway. Suppose to work good on antenna's too. Anyone thinking of painting a Predator 10K Black should consider using this stuff instead of regular spray paint.

As far as painting the covers, just not interested...

I may be wrong, maybe your right, but my thought about painting a metal antenna with the plasti kote would be it acting like an insulator affecting swr and efficiency of dispelling all of the rf. Who knows. Worth a shot.

No different than the stuff they use on Firestick and other fiberglass antenna's...It's just a plastic coating...radio waves will penetrate plastic just fine...
