Im from northern Mi. Havent lived here for very long, a couple of years now. I've always tinkered with CB's. Mostly wore out, beat up cast away radios and barely servicable antenna's. I finally decided that I wanted to put a good radio in my jeep and get rid of my circa 1970's cobbled together whip. So I went on a shopping spree on the phone with Walcott CB's out of Iowa. I ordered a Cobra 25 wxnwst, a 4ft firestickfl4b firefly antenna, a firestick ss3h spring, and a firestick mkj4r jeep fender mount with coax. I also have a great pro-95 scanner that i ordered a tri-band mag mount antenna for. I ordered a smittybilt stereo security console to mount the radio in as I spend as much time as absolutely possible with the top in various degrees of removed. My plan is to mount the radio in the console as well as a power distribution block like you find in amp apps for a cd player. Along with a small 200w marine amp for tunes as I'm not putting a cd player. A power converter for various electrical devices. I will be using very heavy gauge wiring for both the hot and ground which will both be coming from the battery. Any questions, pointers, offers of radio check when finally installed will all be very much appreciated.
