Hey there, I just installed a cobra 19 dx 3 in my 97 F350 Powerstroke, ran power and ground straight from the drivers side battery and mounted a Wilson 2000 trucker with the longer shaft in the middle of my toolbox and ran a 12 gauge ground wire from the mount to the drivers side battery as well, brand new 18 foot coax without any loops, and adjusted the see down to about 1.3 across the board, is there anything else I can do to maximize this setup? I've used out previously in an f150 and ranger with good lick. Might be able to pick up a like new cobra 29 lx from my buddy for 60 bucks butt would like to see how far I can take this setup, mostly cuz its free.

Get the lx. And a small box. A 2 pill would work fine. Just a few hundred watts. ;)

The only issue I have with that is room, my truck is a regular cab with split captains chairs, sub behind the passenger seat and amp rack behind the center console, I refuse to mount a radio on top of the dash, the 19 is mounted where the ashtray used to be I'm the dash.

if you have room under your seat put your amp there where you can reach down and control swtiches. or make a bracket that can hold the radio and the 2 pill.

The two pill is tiny bro. About the size of your 19 you should be able to fit it under the seat.

a 2 year old or older magnum 257 HP would be a nice upgrade since your space is so limited . 80 watts , great am and ssb audio and stays on frequency and a nice recieve on it too . it also allows you to do some freebanding and covers the 10 meter ham band if you have a ticket or get one in the future .

folks had issues with the ones released in the last year to year and a half .... that why i recommended one a little older .
