Changing Your CB Handle.

I am considering changing my CB Handle I want to ask this question to you subject matter experts I know the FCC has no rules about this but within the protocols of CB operators how does one do this with out pissing off people ?

Just change it man. Just let people you usually talk to know the change and let them know the new handle name and or DX number if that's bein changed aswell.

With the exception of maybe the locals in your area, 99.9% of the people you talk to in DX, are not going to know you changed your handle from Gearbox, to Pumpkin-Head, if that's what you chose for your new handle..."UNLESS" you have been going by Gearbox for years, and only talk DX on one particular channel, then someone in DX that's been talking to you regularly for years might recognize your voice and know you as "Gearbox"...Then you would have to also let that person know you changed your handle..."If you want", totally up to you.

I know guys that go by something different every time they get on the radio!

just this weekend I had a local I talk to all the time tell me I needed to change my handle I will make a new one and keep the old one I know a few people with multiple handles its all good fun

I don't have to change it it was a suggestion he said it was too long I dont think he likes saying chewing tobacco lol I like it I'm going to keep it its mine .

That's why I call you "Chewy"...Most of the locals just call me Jesse, for the same reason, jessejames too long...Most in DX however call me by what I go by on the Forums because that's what they know me by for the last 10+ years...

Lol yeah I shorten some peoples handles when talking to them because it can sometime get a annoying saying something long. Southern Indiana 195 gone quiet.
