    WhichRadio

I am looking for a new radio. I can not go to the battery and can only use my dash hook ups. I want to be about 100-130to watts. Several people i know are running the connex 4600 turbo with the rf power turned about half way up. They are not having any problems. Please tell me how to figure out what radios will run offanks the dash leads and give me your suggestions. Thanks.

I ran a 2 pill amp out of the cigarette plug in my truck, and it worked fine contrary what some people might say. Never blew that 20 amp fuse either. I did have the Cobra 29 LX power coming off another circuit in the fuse box. I doubt you could to that with either of the radio's you mentioned though/

Why can't you get to the battery? What type of vehicle?

I cant go to the battert because the company i work for wont allow it. The truck is a volvo. The dash post are on a 20 amp fuse. When you said " i doubt you could do that with either of the radios you mentioned " what did you mean? Are you saying they wont run off the c.b. dash post in my truck?

Yeah a 20 amp fuse block probably won't be big enough. I think those radio's are somewhere around the 25-30 amp range. My Stryker 955 Is rated at 29 amps, and It runs around 90-100 watts. Got to the manufactures website, and look up the specs for those radios.

    I understand about the battery.

I dont mind jumping the fuse to a 30 amp. I do know two people running the 4600. They just have to keep the rf power at about 50%. With the power turned down they still have very strong radios. They talk with authority for miles and miles. I will do more research. Thank you for your time and info.

When you say Truck , do you mean Semi-Truck? I really don't know what size fuses are used in a Semi-Truck.

I appreciate you taking time to look. The link I got brought up the 4300-300 which is much bigger than the 4600 turbo I am looking at. Are you sure that is the right info for the 4600? Thanks again
