Conditions are still good for us here around FL. Made contact with Australia 2 nights ago in the mobile. Also this morning has been good as well, spoke with quite a few fine folks from IL, WV, Canada, OH, MI, and a few other states as well. The local talk has been great as well, early in the morning until about 11am and late at night normally after 10pm. SOHC don't shut it down quite yet, there may be ways to at least get some dx'ing in. I would love to make another contact in New Zealand as it has been an elusive place for me to get to lol. Conditions are constantly changing, don't give up yet!!

Its nealy imposable to get any local contacts on the ground wave 26mhz because of the hills here, my antenna is the best its ever been 1:1 SWR on channel 40 and like I sed befor skip from other parts of NZ is a once in a blue moon thing.

I was going to try making a better antenna for the mobile in the car so I could try DXing from diffrent locations, trying to find ss spring wire for the wip is quit hard

I will put some calls out on sunday some time on ch 6, 10, 35

Got a few more funny old radios

The Thorn with the Digi scan works relay well, the NLB switch locks and unlocks the clarifier, it has 100s of channels

From the look's of it...I think "1503" might be the manufacturer date!

LOL nar it was made in 1978.

I got this GE radio witch has a strange mod, the channel knob has been replaced with this thing, it to has 100s of channels, it has a light switch and a strange switch to control the voicelock, it cranks out 10 watts on AM, going to put this in my car.

I am the only person I know of with one down here, I wish I had the speaker to go with it.
