    Hey Stang,

I am running a Connex 4300-300 and a Ranger 2970N2 into a Texas Star sweet 16 in my Chevy Truck with a stock 145 amp alt. NO extra battery and have had NO issues with it. The only time the TS 16 is used is for SSB when the skip is rolling. I keep it limited to about 1,100 watts out on SSB and 750 on AM. Like you stated the TS amps are great for SSB and I get great reports and responses.

Good luck with what you choose. You can't go wrong with TS amps. I had a TS 250 years ago and ran a 3300 with it, loved it. But had to go bigger.................

Put the magnaforce 350hd paired with the optima mk3 and it's working quite well. Have made some contacts and all say it sounds great. It definitely helps when the conditions are rough. Doesn't make the amp warm either. Good combo. Gotta love them good ol toshiba 2879's. Anyway I am back in business for now. Waiting for the new maxlog 8900. Seems to be a nice small radio. Will see soon. Happy dx'ing and god bless.
