Dosy fc50s frequency counter with ssb

Has anyone used one of these yet? I think they are relativity new. I am curious as to how well they work. They use coax connections (so-239) to connect to radio and antenna and not a plug into radio. Just wondering how well they perform or if they are witth the 89 dollars. Thanks for any and all replies. Here is a photo of said device.
Again thanks for any and all replies.

nothing great about it,, only monitors transmit freq,, and doesn't work on ssb unless you hold the small speaker that comes with it against your mic while it transmits a test tone

Thanks 544, it did state in the description that it displays both receive and transmit freq's. Not really digging the extra tone injection piece, just another piece of fist junk I take it? Thanks for the info, any recommendations for a a good freq counter that I can use in the mobile?? Don't want to break the bank, just easy to get knocked off freq wit the open clarifier and it sucks having to retune it as there are so many off frequency people talking. I am pretty good at listening and getting it back on, but want to be a bit more precise. Thanks for the help and all the info, it's much appreciated. God bless.

What's a decent one that can be used on SSB that won't make my wallet hurt too bad?? I am willing to spend, just need to justify it. Thanks for the responses.

i don't think there are many available other than the fc-390 style,, for what you want,, to monitor receive and transmit frequency and they need to be wired internally to the radio. they need a power, ground, freq input and a usb and lsb input voltage.

if this is for your magnum 257 radio?? I have never ran across the pin outs of were to hook one of these up

Yes form my magnum 257hp's and a couple of older radios as well. Just for quick reference basically. I think I have it covered now though. Thanks for all the input. Much appreciated. God bless and hope to speak again soon.

You want to look for a display that will read an IF frequency and can offset the display to give a proper readout. Like a digital VFO only just the readout not the freq generation.

I have it covered. Got someone with some good calibration equipment that is going to make sure the dosy meter is where it needs to be as far as on frequency is concerned. It more for a quick check to ensure that after bumping the clarifier that I am truly back on freq. thanks for all the replies and info. Getting it sorted now. Just got new antenna and coax setup today and tuned. All good, been dx'ing a bit just radio ( magnum 257HP), and it's working well!! Still have some other things to add, but for now this will work. I just hate bumping the clarifier and then spending hrs trying to get it back right!!! Hopefully this will resolve that. God bless.
