    Galaxy 98vhp problem

    Ok guys I am getting a dead key wattage on ssb any ideas on where to look in the radio also does anyone have alignment info on this radio

    Check Cbtricks.com. They should have the schematic for that radio. Hopefully one of the gurus will chime in and be able to tell you exactly where to look.

    check ssb balance carrier [vr6] if this just started then this is probaly not the issue. improper mic wiring
    might do this, a squealing powermic WILL do this. also background noise will do this. id reccommend checking
    other options b4 messing with vr6

    Set mic gain at 9 o'clock and then the mic gain at about 1/4 way up and start from there. Having some good locals that can tell you how you sound on the other end helps a bunch too, but only if you trust them. Have a good group around me and they will let you know if you are over modulated or not on frequency. Also go back to stock mic and see if issue still happens. And make sure that power mic has good battery in it if it needs one. Have a good one and hope you get it resolved. God bless
