    Just bought a Galaxy

I just bought a new Galaxy DX959. I'm still playing with it and getting used to it, but so far I'm pretty happy. The meter is super easy to read, which I'm really liking.

How is the Galaxy 959 holding up? Are you going to connect an amplifier to it?

cool.i've heard that the Galaxy 959's are nice radios.i just won an auction last week for a Cobra 148F GTL and they also have a fre-counter built in.i just checked the tracking info on it and it is supposed to be here tomorrow afternoon.i'll be waiting in the driveway until the UPS driver gets here.it will be my first experience with a fre-counter and i've always wanted this specific radio and i can't friggin' wait.i'll post up with pics after i play with it for a while!!
    i love the fre-counter!! and can't wait(did i say that already?LMAO)

I love mind too! Got the 2290 mod which does 150 watts and now the extra channels may be next on the list.

i've always loved those chrome D104's.you've got 150watts coming out of a 959,BullDog?damn,do you have heat sinks or a fan on the back/side or anywhere else?
hey BullDog,how far away from Litchfield,NH-03052 are you.i am wondering if we woould end up picking up each other either during skip or on a mild clear night?i doubt we'd hear each other at night time since there's at least 100 or so miles between us but which way does your signal fly out and float during the day?i know i get alot in from Texas and west coast.some days i get a lot of the islands and PR.don't think i've gotten much from further north but i could be wrong.

i just got back my other 148GTL and my two small kickers(260&270watts peak so i am just barely making it out of the tip of my antenna lol)and i have to hook them back up in my Jeep this afternoon when my daughter gets home from work(inbetween work and school).i may not get on air today but tomorrow i'll definitely be on.

Hey Bulldog, The channel mod is real easy to do yourself. it took me like 40 minutes or so to do it. Thats including hunting for that second switch in the garage..LOL
