    Maco 103C-HV 3

    Hello everyone,

Any opinions on the Maco 103C-HV 3? The only base antenna I have ever used is the A99 pictured in my avatar. Have been out of the hobby a few years and wanting to get a small to mid size beam (vertical and horizontal.)

Is there one I should consider instead?

My tower is only 30' but if needed I can build a tilt antenna pole out of oilfield pipe to get it higher.

    Thanks

Oh my, it takes a while to get a response..
Three elements are a perfect fit for CB and Maco is a very good choice indeed.

The 3 element beam placed up as high as you can get it, will work very well. More so with DX I’d left horizontal and it will tell well locally being a vertical antenna. Which ever you decide, the 3 Element bean is a good Choice

Used a Antenna Specialist Boss 303 for years, lost it to an ice storm and from other parts made my own version of Boss 303.Talked the world with it. Loved the flat side for skip and cutting out local interference talking to another flat side party. I had a switch box that allowed running vertical and horizontal at same time, great for plying around with new locals.

i'd just get a 4 element and run it flat/horizontal with the 99 above it for a omni/local antenna . but to each their own .
