    Sirio

Any body running a SIRIO antenna? If so, thoughts, history, performance etc.

Looking to upgrade from Wilson 5000

Forget the Wilson or Sirio, if you want to get out of the swamp you need to be running one of theseeeeee

most complaints about sirio base antennas are about the physical durability of them .... or rather the lack of ......
the 4000 is a awesome design works great , but it's a poor choice is areas with strong storms/winds and ice/snow accumulation . some folks re-enforce them and some build stronger copies . their 827 base antenna has a strong durable vertical , but FWIU folks have problems with the little ground elements rattling and the matching coil inside has gone open circuit on them from time to time ... some more than once .

i've read nothing but good comments about their 5000 pro antenna compared to the wilson 5000 . i haven't used either one .

Noisemaker, I have thought about your antenna. However, I have to mount the antenna on my toolbox. COMPANY truck, no drilling allowed, therefore NO pucks. Also the boss doesn't like the big mid-coil rigs either. I have to stick with my wilson or similar style. Everything I have read, opinions are that the Sirio will out perform my wilson..

    Thanks for the replies.......

Maybe someday I can get a real antenna

You need to be careful with Sirios if you plan on running any power.

Well, I think I will stay with my Wilson until something happens to it. Then replace with a Sirio (someday) if needed. No complaints yet with the Wilson, just always looking for a way to improve.

    Thanks for everyone's views
