    FatBoy 600 amp Motor Maul

Hello Junkies, have a problem with a fatboy motor maul that wont stay at dialed voltage(wont hold). It will go from 24v to 12v but not consistent and at any moment dip or spike. Had a local shop rewire broken wires on jack from regulator and I think change resistor in regulator. To dangerous to run maul with voltage constantly changing. Anyone encounter this problem before or have any possible solution?

Could also be the variable power pot that controls the voltage. If it's not rated for the amperage and voltage being applied it might not work right. I'm no tech, but it would seem that something along those lines might be be the issue. Just throwing it out there. Don't flame me guys if I am way off base here!! Like I said, I am no tech by any means!!!
