    New Stryker SR-447HPC2 Help

I just bought this radio, have it all hooked up and working. Now I need some advice so I’ll try to list all my questions here so as not be annoying to ya’ll:

    1. What BAND should I turn the knob to I order to get as much traffic from other CB users? A-H are my options.

    2. I’m sitting in my driveway and need to check to see if anyone can hear me and we can talk. Whatever advice or settings should be considered I would appreciate your advice.

    3. When I speak into the mic the PWR gauge peaks. Is that ok? If now, what should it be at?

    4. What should the SWR be? When I speak into the mic it hits 2.7. How do I adjust this for peak performance?

That’s all for now. I hope you can get back to me soon.

First off. You don’t want to be on any other band but the CB band which is 26.965-27.405. Second, get yourself an external SWR meter and read up on how to use it properly. And last but not least, make sure you have a good ground and power run straight to the battery and a good in line fuse installed as well as a good antenna and coax, and connectors. Once that is done correctly, you’ll be in pretty good shape.

Thanks, but I need a little more help.

What letter do I turn my band selector to?

Without an SWR meter but so I tweak the other items listed? What knobs do I turn and until when?

That radio has to be modded to have the CB band I believe. Here is the procedure to do this.
    Solder R297
    Desolder R299
    1. Move the LED switch turn to COL, then power the radiio on, but during power on when display just
shows any character, move the LED switch from COL to DIM and then push from DIM to COL
    2. Turn channel knob to choose RS,
    3. Next key the microphone once to confirm ,
    4. The LCD will then displays OK,
    5. Now power the radio off and back on.

This may need to be done by someone that knows that radio. Not as easy as turning the band knob from what I have read.

It’s also possible that you may need to do the mod with the usb cable from Stryker.

I believe on the Stryker's "D" is going to be your regular CB channels. (provided the radio has been converted to 11 Meter)

Here is a youtube video that explains most of the features of that radio...

Pretty good here...(I guess) starting to get that "cooped-up" felling...too cold to do anything outside...and no DX inside! and to top it off, no NASCAR for another 2 or 3 weeks!

    Other than that...everythings hunky-dory.

Well stay warm. As for the DX, it’s been scarce around here as well. And it’s been hot then cold. Guess someone up north doesn’t know how to close the freezer door!! Anyhow. Be safe and have a good one.
