    Ky Greenhorn With DX-959 Troubles

    Howdy All
Recently picked up an 08 Galaxy 959 with what appears to be a frequency problem
Channels below 33 have no TX/RX and frequency’s show way off on the factory meter
Radio is in really clean condition and everything works as it should when TX/RX is on channels 33-40
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately I’m also having no luck finding a reputable shop somewhat local
    Somerset-London area ....

sounds like it may just be out of alignment. here is a link where you can find the service manual for it. you will need to go to the 959 radio and there is 2 listed. one is with mosfet finals and the other is bypolar finals. look at the serial number to find which radio you have.
you can then align it. since you are wanting to work on it your self I assume you have the equipment to do it with. if not you will need to take it to a shop.

    Appreciate the reply
Unfortunately I do not have the equipment to try this myself and will be in search of a shop to take a look at it
It appears to be repairable , That’s good news !

Unfortunatlely it seems as if there’s no local shop around our area so the search goes on ....

    Thanks Again !
