HELP with an old MIDLAND 13-864 base station

I need info on how to adjust the modulation on my MIDLAND 13-864. When I talk my buddies tell me I'm talking low. So I need to up it a bit. I've talked to several people and searched the web for days and can't find anything. I'm hoping someone out there likes these older radios like me.
I'm as crazy as my meds let me be...Sometimes that's a little overwhelming for people...LOL

WOW, I don't know of any place that still sells the Sams Photofacts manuals. Maybe craigs list or ebay.
