Ive been using a 636L lately seems to work on all the "hot audio" radios i own... and the volume of audio seems to be plenty. Great at cutting out backround noise.. but you have to get up on that sucker.
If you want "IN YOUR FACE" audio..i like the D104M6 older mic. Its dirty ,tinny, picks up a crap load of backround noise.... sort-a- like just yelling into the mic.

If i run my 2950 with power mic it tends to squeal at around 8000 watts but i put 5 or 6 clamp on ferrites right where it enters the radio and its all good

I have 2 cobra power mics. All though i am not a huge fan, I have one on my everday driver. Took me a while to fiqure out to get it to adjusted right. It is on like 3 or4 out of 10 on the dial. If i turn it above 5 it squels real bad.

Most of the time when the radio itself has been modified for audio, a stock 636l or road king -56 is plenty alot of people overmodulate if not careful because if radio was moded for audio really a power mic is not needed. Also noticed on high power vehicles 5 pill or larger they tend to stick with non-amplified mics, i guess the power increases the audio enough. From what i noticed at the keydowns. Just my thoughts.

I run a 575 in my surburban with a couple of k .. but like doughboy i run ferrite cores to keep rf out... I also run a 636L on my mini mobile witha 2x6.. sometimes a d104m6 and the 575. The 636L seems to work with eveything i own so far.
