    New FM CB question?

Hey has anybody been trying and having Luck with the New FM CBs? Can a FM CB talk with a 10 Meter radio in the FM Mode or are they different frequency numbers. Curious to learn !

Curious, I am. Saw a UToob video on SSB V FM showing much cleaner SSB. You raise the questions, a CB inquiry on a 10 Meter radio. Presuming where 10M radio has FM and 11M has no FM. UToob demo convincing; no clear advantage. FM has no appreciable less noise than AM.

Post a link to the YouTube video you watched if you can. I'm all about learning. If FM doesn't have less noise what would be the sense of it. Around here the AM air-waves aren't too busy for sure !

Ive no personal experience with FM switch. That is, it wasn't memorable. I very vaguely recall it as quiet.

Thanks for the video link and it was just opposite of what I thought FM would be. I thought it would be Quieter than AM & SSB. Now I'm glad I didn't jump on the band wagon and buy a new radio. Been working on my house so haven't been on the radio much anyway. Thanks again !

A Few Questions that Come To Mind
Have the FM mode CB radios arrived on the market yet? I haven't noticed. Not in any numbers at least, here in South Carolina.
Anyone heard any speak on if the FCC has asked for talk allowing repeaters to be used on 11 meters? Seems with FM's use on 11 meters being approved, it might be something they are looking at, down the road.
Wonder how much money was paid to FCC to allow the FM mode radios to be type accepted with no additional spectrum allowance offered?
Cobra and President Radio must of paid somebody at the FCC off handsomely and will need to sell boo-koo new designed FM added transceivers.
Does Cobra even offer a SSB rig any longer?
Cobra, (China) must be betting the farm on the FM mode causing sales to BOOM!

A frequency is a frequency, If the ten-meter radio was converted, they both could be turnt to the same freg and communicate to each other as they can and do now on AM or SSB Modes.
FM mode is the same emission type in both kind of radios.

The real thing that matters to me is the skip. Now on both AM and SSB, multiple signals can be heard at the same time. But with FM, the strongest signal will capture the carrier and allow only the stations audio come through. Not an ideal situation but it is what it is and the FCC said so.

President radios has the FM Thomas radio but I don't think there is very many FM CBs out there yet to get excited about. I think I'll wait for a while for them to catch on!
