    More NooB questions....... Linears.

Aight... Got a decent starter radio... Connec CX3400HP... Have a decent antenna on order ..... 27 in shaft Predator 10k single coil...next. POWER?

Not exactly sure what the dead key watts are on the radio but looking for an entry level linear. Looking at Texas Star... Maybe a 250 or 250 V with variable power. Will this work with my radio okay?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

You should just get my Davemade 1x4. After you get yourself a TX Star, within a month you'll want a 1x4 anyway!

Will it work with my current setup?
I'm totally new to this and I can only afford to buy this stuff once.
PM me the info and condition and price etc.

Look around on Craigslist some. I found a good Texas Star 667V for 150 bucks. It is a 1 driving 4 and serves me well.

i wouldn't put a 50 watt radio in front of a pair of 2290's . to much drive for the amp and the difference between 50 and 200 watts isn't that great . i'll also suggest something bigger to last longer and tell more of a difference from being barefoot .

Booty beat me to it. your radio is way to much for that small of a texas star.
Look into a 2x4 2 2879's driving 4 2879's Dave Made or Fat Boy your radio will drive it great, and you will have plenty of power to be heard in DX. And a month down the road you wont be looking for a larger amp.

A 2x4 is a complete waste unless harmonics and splatter is what one is looking for

Well...... I just spoke to Joe in NC from Dave Made. It appears that my vehicle itself poses a problem. 2012 F250... And unless you REALLY know what you are doing on the install...... You can cause more damage than its worth. I guess I need to find someone local with a good knowledge base who is honest and can mentor me along. Thanks for all the replies but until I figure out what I need to do for a PROPER install I guess I'm on hold... Dammit

All the advise and posts are meaningless compared to having someone with a clue standing over your shoulder making sure you're doing it right. Sit back, do your homework, and when you have mastered the basics THEN make a decision. The amps will be around when you're ready. There's never a shortage of boxes around.
