    Hello across the board

Good to know there are some "Old-Timers" / Interest still on 11 meters.
Nothing like a good clean well tuned rig. Have had my Cobra 2000 & 148 GTL for over 25 Yrs now.
Just dusted her off after a 8-9 year storage period. Fine as kind, 148 (mobile) has a pined meter.
Anybody know if the original is still available & whats involved swopping it out ?

Still need to put up a base antenna.

Any members available for a QSO on USB / LSB ? mobile works great considering the meter.
Location is East Coast / Boston is close enough.

I'm new to the rag chewing world lol. I'm in the Waterbury area at 84 and 8. How about you buddy? I'm looking to buy a new radio and hop it up quite a bit so I joined ed cb junkies to educate myself prior to. My bosses son has a base setup and skips a little

I hear you, lots of fancy rigs to choose from today. I'm just an oldtimer I guess. I prefer the older cobras that can be modified like the 2000 GTL & 148 149 mobile radios. What ever you choose make sure shes got LSB & USB and is able to be tweaked / tricked out. Its difficult to find a talented CB radio tech that knows his stuff & wouldn't rip you off today. Watch out for the truck-stops shops, kind of hard to find a honest one. (especially) this far north. If you looking for a good tech with a few rigs on sale shoot me a privet message, got one in the Boston area. Good luck

Absolutely runner will do. I'm in the middle of a move right now but when I'm settled ill take you up on that. I drive a rig so it's gotta be a mobile radio. I was thinking the new galaxy 10 meter with 200 stock amps. I have to make a thread or search for one and see how customizable it is. It's the dx98vhp

Hello Ridge Runner! I order my meters for the Cobras off Ebay. The last one I got was new, and was @ $12.00 including shipping. I just used a blue Led in it instead of the original. Very easy swap Have a good week, 3x7 said that.
