    Question cobra 29?

Can a cobra 29 classic be used as a base radio?

Anything can be used as a base station if you have a power supply. And by power supply I don't mean hooking to a battery under a table either.

Very nice sir. I'm looking into getting a plug for a wall outlet and other base radio equipment that are needed. Hoping to get my first base set up eventually

you will need around a 5 amp power supply to run a cobra 29 unless it is comped out and you may need a little bigger. just remeber you really don't want to go over 15vdc must power supplies are 13.8 so stay between 13.8 - 15vdc. I have also seen people use a old computer power supply they are diagrams on the web on how to convert one if you need a quick fix but I would suggest you get a better one such as a triplite, pyramid or even a workman and the workmans are very affordable
