    Heathkit SB201a

I am having a problem with a Heathkit 201a it started out as on the back next to tubes I had to replace the 28uh choke, 3300 ohm resistor and the .02 disc cap . Now amp will put out watts when in grid position but when I switch to HV it will not make any. The HV position is where I was making all my high watts before. In grid keying up amp shows 300 on amp scale and when switched to HV 2300. I would like to get some ideas or input on this problem if possible please give me a direction. Thanks Jimbo165

Is your switches working correctly? Has wiring and tubes been looked through?

I found problem as I told you I had to replace the 28uh choke, 3300 ohm resistor and the .02 disc cap . But on keying circuit I found a burnt resistor that looked ok on top but burnt on bottom side replaced it and amp working. Main problem also was my brother overdriving amp but it is his amp. Replaced 811 tubes with 572B and all overdriving problems went away. After working on this amp I will get one in the future so easy to work on and get great information or help with problems. Right now I am having a blast with my D&A phantoms I am right now using my 12 tube Phantom it works great but use my T 600 D&A Triple Stage as my backup. I do not have any good watt radios so I drive them with a JB150 and combo works great. Thanks for all your help and info. 165 From the Great Lakes.
