Its a fantastic antenna! Especially with my Cobra 29. I'm reaching 7 miles with no trouble at all!

Nice. I went with a top load FS-5 with a tunable tip, because of the location I wanted to mount my antenna. I would have needed a 30" shaft to run a viper or a predator setup. Running barefoot I get close to 15 mile on the interstate. My first FS-5 was white, the wife picked the color. I didn't like the looks because my truck was also white, I bought another one this time in black. It looks so much better. It tuned up just like the other one with low SwR's. ch.40 - 1.3, ch.1 - 1.1. I sent the white FireStick I had to Tallman. It's good to see another glass whip runner, lol!

Dude in my eyes you cant beat a good ole glass whip. they are good for about any set up. i know a guy that was actually using duals as base antennas and was doing well with outgoing and incoming signal!

It sent this white FS-5 to Tallman, I have a black FS-5 in the same location, it talks and receives just fine.

Is that coax any good? I've been looking at the firestik ring instead of screw on coax here lately and have been wondering how Tue performance is.

Holy crap... Lots of typos on my post... Damn iPhone. the mount I bought comes with 18' of FireWire for $18.99. I'll PM you a link. My mount is a 99' Dakota hood mount. The hole layout was prefect for the area I mounted it, plus it's 1/8
stainless steel, that's why I bought it. How do you like your new antenna. Did you get the FS-4, tuneable tip?
