I don't like the monkey made antenna's because I don't like the way they tune , and second the antenna is made out of like 2 or 3 different kinds of cheap ass metal they use. and third , the stinger gets bent like you won't believe .
Sorry caveman... The only information I know about monkeys doesn't involve CB antennas, I wish I could help.
somehow, I don't think he got the answer he was looking for!
Well I got them wrong end of the deal. Alright thanks guys I'll get something different. Is the firestik II with the tuneable tip a better antenna?

The only reason I'm running the firestik is because it's a top load antenna and the location I was mounting the antenna it was the best choice for me. I'm on my second FS-5 already, they work get for me. I have never received a bad comment on the way my setup sounded from the locals here and during skip. Barefoot is about 15 miles of talk on the interstate and skip from Texas to Maine, Hawaii, Florida, California and Jamaica. I cant personally tell you what the better or best antenna is on the market. I can only tell you what works for me and my setup. Like 619 said the market is flooded with an array of antennas and everyone has them setup different. I sent my old FS-5 to Tallman because he wanted it. I do know that Predator antennas are a hot item. For my setup I would need a 30" long shaft and the only make a 27 inch. I need the coil to be above my roof line to give me maximum performance. Thats why I run the firestik, the coil is at the top of the antenna. Sorry I'm not much help, I can just tell you what work best for me and my setup.

Just make sure every time you tune the antenna, you must put the cap back on, the firestik cap. Also make sure when setting your SwR's your not next to objects, like other cars and trucks and building etc... Also make sure you have the doors close on the vehicle. If the SwR's are higher on ch.40 than on ch.1, you need to adjust the tip downward. If its higher on ch.1 than ch.40, then you need to unscrew the tip to make it longer.
Both of my FireStiks tunned flat ch.1 - 40
