If you are looking to run an open coil antenna, the predator 10k is a very good choice. They are lightweight and perform very well in both receive and transmit. They also tune very easily. There are a lot of options available are far as shaft size and coils.

I would like to see the new FS-5 FireStik tested to see how it compares, instead of the old KW series. Never the less, its
still a good article.
