That was a perfect way to explane it. So, keydown rigs with multiple antennas and 100k of power setup like that..bounce back, because they want everything they've for got going forward to beat the other cat they going up against...makes perfect since.

So I did my antenna on the Yukon today, and I have to say, I put the whip in the antenna about an inch from the top just to start, and threw it on the roof. It was 1.1 on ch 1 and 1.2 on ch 40!!! That's using the Galaxy SWR meter. I'm going to get it on a Palstar or MFJ but damn! First shot! I'm using a Predator Bad to the Bone with a 22inch shaft.

Or you can do like I did and stick 3-300amp alternators under the hood, and have room to run a 32 pill once you out-grow the 16 pill!

As long as I can here them...I can get back...no problem. Just running a 16 pill DM, but I set-it up for a 32 pill...not that I will ever get one, plenty satisfied with the 16 for now.

I have a question for you Jesse. Yesterday afternoon you were talking to 711 in Virginia. I heard him loud and clear, but I never heard you talking to him. Why is that? I can hear and talk to others out of the state, but I can't hear some texas base stations or moblie units?? I'm not talking about locals stations... Talking about stations 300 miles away like you and others.

    Thanks

300 miles is too far for local, but not far enough for skip (in a nut-shell)...Sometimes...very rarely tho we get what I call "short-skip", when that happens you can talk to guys anywhere from 150 to 200 miles away...But it doesn't happen that often.

I'm sure someone knows what that's called, or how the atmosphere has to be to get it, but I don't...I just enjoy it when it does happen!
