There's a guy in my area that uses old tram base equipment and he says it all works great for him.

    Just a few of my favorites... All Cobra 29's new / old. For SSB's Cobra 148 GTL / Galaxy DX949 / 959.

I really liked the 959 also...great for a little base radio, always had to have my hand on the clarifier though once I started it up (It would drift until warmed up)...

I think the only difference between the 949 and 959 in the freq. counter. Galaxy radios are pretty much great talkers out of the box.

959s are the shit hands down. You can keep your 29s and 25s and 68s and 78s. just my $0.02

best radio as far as cb goes has to be the browning golden eagle 3. living in NYC qrm is strong. this thing has a better reciver than my icom 7000 but i will not recomend it for SSB work. too much drift on siltronix VFO.
