    power supply for moble amp

I have a old a/c power supply..ie 13.8V/16.5V. Is that enough to power a DC Linear?? Thanks.

Depends on what size amp you have...Might be enough to run something like a RM KL203...I think they require just 10 amps.

You make no mention of amperage output of the power supply. No it likely wont power a FatBoy 8x2sc2879. It mite (they grow on chickens) power a Palomar 250 or possibly a 450, maybe. Amperage output is the impotent factor.

cheap power supplies can cause a lot of static/noise on the receive end of your radio . i'll recommend twice the amperage your amp needs so the PS will last a while . astron makes nice stuff ....
