Here is a photo of the top, can't show the side as it has my work logo on it, any response is very much appreciated or PM me. Thanks and god bless.
Best deal would be go to a fender mount...That's what I had to do on my work van...And it works just fine in DX and local, I talk all over the Country when skips rolling with it on the fender.

I had to fab my own mount, but they do make fender mounts for allot of vehicles...

Nope, never have...That first pic is the van with a Predator 30K, that has a solid aluminum shaft on top instead of a regular stinger...It only clears the top of the van by a few inches...The angle of the pic just made it look taller...The other pic was of a duel coil Predator 10K with a regular stinger that cleared the top by about a foot...Either way, since I don't drive under anything low enough that might hit the roof, the antenna's are safe.

Those pics are several years old, right now I'm running a regular single coil Predator 10K, with a 27" lower shaft on it but since it's mounted on the fender down low, I don't have to worry about hitting something that would knock it off.

-unless a low flying Pidgin pop's it, I'm good to go!

On this van, this was my only option...I first tried mounting on the mirror bracket arms, but never could get a decent ground...I've been using this fender mount now for about 6 years and never had any issues.

My only problem is I can't drill any holes since it's my work van, right now I'm running a sirio pl5000 with the mag mount and changed out the factory coax to mini 8x, about to change that to lmr240, the good stuff, not the eBay junk either, we use it in cell site installs, it's not times microwave but I know it's good stuff, it's made by 123 wireless.
And here's the antenna setup I use, kind of tall but works well
Thanks for all input guys, mr coily I may end up having a new antenna made for another mobile , will be in contact sir. Thanks and god bless.

If you have to go on top with it, Come up with a quad or triple type mag mount i could set you up then or others..need more mag mount...I have a nice light weight single coil that i can make go flat side so you would only be up around 3 feet of your roof.

No holes in my Van!...Least none that show...I had to pop a couple holes under the hood to mount the antenna mount's bracket to the fender, but where the holes are, there's already holes where the fender's engine compartment cover is mounted to the fender, so a few more holes didn't mater! Then the coax is fed threw holes in the firewall where other wires run in anyway.
