    "Just saying?"

What I said was accurate for what he's wanting to do...Since he also said he's not new to the hobby, and has had towers in the past, then he should know that trying to stick a antenna on top of a couple of 10' poles (which I assume are probably top-rails for a chain link fence) is not going to stand up to high winds without having guy wires attached...Last I checked, top-rails don't have anyway of attaching guy wires, unless you add some kind of brackets...

Just going by the vague description of what he's wanting to do, I wouldn't suggest sticking anything larger than a coat hanger on that pole, simply because the first good wind gust would probably bring it down crashing threw the roof.

I know people do it, and maybe get by without then crashing down, but I would not ever suggest going that route, specially not knowing more about how he's planning on securing the poles...

What are you looking for a vertical or horizontal antenna setup? How much money are you wanting to spend? There are a lot of antennas out there and without some more info it's hard to tell you what you want. JJD knows ALOT about antennas , I know he made the coat hanger comment, probably because you haven't given enough info as to what you want to accomplish with your antenna setup. Like I said, let us know what you want and what you are willing to spend and I am sure a good antenna choice can then be made.

stay away from the a99/ imax they bleed over tvs. being on a budget id get the m400 from coppers
but youll need another 10 foot section of mast to mount antenna cause coax runs thru its mounting pipe
    base-AR3500 ,palamar 250,d104 w/ 10da head ,sirio 2016,ll400 coax
    mobile-s.s. 3900, sirio z180 , astatic 636S.E
