Cobra CA-2000 Speaker Replacement

Well I finally found another CA-2000 speaker for the Cobra 2000 GTL. Plugged it in and sounds different. Opened it up and has a slightly different speaker than my other one. Yet that speaker looks original. So, I am thinking to upgrade both of them, with better specifications and bigger voice coil. After hearing a few I realized the ones in a Radio Shack commmunications speakers would be a perfect fit. Since the ones on the market seem to be real cheap these ones should be an improvement. Then I grabbed some fiberglass insulation to acoustically tune them to my ears. Now I am getting some good sound, Bulldog.

Well when I replaced the speakers the old ones were actually bigger than the metal opening on the mount. Actual speaker overlapping. The mounting plate has two sets of holes. The new speakers look smaller but bigger voice coil. The voice range is what I am focusing to improve and it got done, Bulldog.
