cheap option to a screwdriver ... ??? it seems to basically be like a 10k (or any other external coil antenna) but coil is slightly off-set from center and detachable . change coils to change the center frequency of use . i wouldn't drive with it . but it might make a good antenna for sitting on a hill or mountain top in a mobile or a base .

LOL nope , wasn't me that made the mobile antenna . just thought it was a interesting way to make a multi band antenna . and no technical background here . i just like messin with antennas and discussing them .

Ran across that exact article, thought it was very cool that he tunned it through the detachable coils...Great article to read about, makes me want to go out and get me an old van just to throw my radios in and make my mobile command center...haha
